Rep. Katherine Anne Castor (D–FL–11)

Meeting Summary

  • Meeting held

Meeting Attendees:

I met with Congresswoman Castor at a community center for about 10 minutes.  We discussed the cost of diabetes and the necessity of a three year commitment to the Special Diabetes Program.  I especially emphasized the over 12 billion dollars spent in Florida alone for diabetes care.  She seemed especially interested in the issues regarding Juvenile Diabetes and wanted to attend one of our walks.  I explained that we had just finished our walks for the year, but asked her to join us at our next Gala or research update.  She said she would like to do so.  Congresswoman Castor also said she would be meeting in the near future with Joe Epstein (Tampa Bay Board Member) and his son Joseph (juvenile diabetes).  The meeting was very successful.
