Meeting Attendees:

We met with Congressman Young and his Chief of Staff, Harry Glenn, on Wed. May 28th.  In attendance were Ralph Scaglione, Stephanie Scaglione, Erica Scaglione, Jivan Turner, Lisa Gaudette, and Robert Gaudette.  We began by discussing with the Congressman what it was like living with juvenile diabetes. He has type 2 diabetes and could relate to problems and concerns that we discussed.  We also thanked him for his support of the Special Diabetes Program, and outlined the benefits of the research funds in Florida and the rest of the country.  Congressman Young agreed to continue to support our efforts.  He said that type 2 diabetes runs in his family and he would like to find a cure to spare his children and grandchildren from dealing with this disease.  Erica Scaglione sang "Hero" to Congressman Young to close the meeting and left him a copy of her CD.
