Many of us in the type 1 diabetes (T1D) community know and love
the name Gary Hall, Jr. Not only for all that Gary’s accomplished as a swimmer
during the Olympics (see link towards bottom for more on Gary’s Olympic career)
but also for all that he does to advocate and help the T1D community. Today, you
Gary by voting for him to be selected to the US
Olympic Hall of Fame!
See a few videos from day 2 of 2012 JDRF Government Day. During this day we covered information on our efforts and tools for advocacy. Hear advocates share their connection to T1D and what they’ve learned so far!
Some folks just want to help our cause because it's the right thing to do, hear from Sarah and why she's involved in JDRF Advocacy.
Emma talks about her 5 1/2 year old daughter with T1 and why she came to JDRF's Government Day.
Check out a few videos I was able to capture of our advocacy leaders during registration yesterday. You can follow what we’re doing at the 2012 JDRF Government Day by tracking us on Twitter using the hashtag #JDRFGovDay… we already have a few pictures up and more to come!! =]
Tomorrow we have a live research update via the JDRF Advocacy Ustream Channel, tune in at 8:15am (ET), Monday, March 5.
See below for the videos and leave comments and please feel free to share with others:

As I have mentioned before, one of my favorite parts of the Promise Campaign is getting to hear the feedback from the meetings. More often that not, I hear about the overwhelming positive responses from Members of Congress and the outpouring of support for type 1 research. Hearing about the meeting experiences constantly reminds me that meeting with Members of Congress face-to-face is the most effective way we can ensure that our voices are being heard on Capitol Hill.
