Myrtice has experienced years of struggling with type 1, since being diagnosed at age three. She helped her mom run a diabetes support group, which allowed her to see the challenges that many other people with the disease live with every day. This experience has really driven home to Myrtice how important it is to promote diabetes awareness.
Sophie and her older brother, Max, are on a mission: to raise awareness of the disease they both have, and to tell their story of living with type 1 diabetes to Congress so that research funding continues. They're in this together, and they work hard to make a difference. "One of us is always there for the other," Sophie says.
Max and his younger sister, Sophie, both have type 1, and have teamed up in the fight against diabetes. With their team, "The Attack Pack," they raise money in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes, and meet with newly diagnosed children and their families to provide support.
