JDRF advocate families from the Huntsville/Madison area visited with Representative Parker Griffith on Wednesday, August 5th at Crestwood Hospital. Griffith, a first term Blue Dog Democrat, is very passionate about healthcare reform. In attendance at the meeting were over 27 advocates, including 10 children, who joined to ask the Representative to “Promise to Remember Me.”
JDRF Alabama Board Member, Jim Kaplan, thanked the Representative for his support of diabetes issues and asked for his additional support in being a co-sponsor of the Special Diabetes Renewal Program. The advocates were pleased to hear Representative Griffith gladly state he would! Representative Griffith further assured the advocates that he would support and ensure diabetic care health reform in our quest for adequate and affordable health insurance coverage without pre-existing condition exclusions or penalties, and access to state-of-the-art treatment and technology!
