Promise Meeting Spotlight: Mike Anderson and Rep. Eric Cantor

On behalf of the Central Virginia chapter, I was proud to represent all of the passionate and dedicated volunteers working every day to raise money and awareness for a cure.

I was honored to stand with Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA-7), Elliott Yamin, Chris Schutt and Ned Schutt at the Promise To Remember Me Kick-off.  From the Capitol steps, you could clearly imagine a future press conference where the announcement is made: there's a cure for Type 1 diabetics like me, Elliott Yamin and the adorable Ned Schutt. I left Washington, D.C., energized and dedicated to keeping the heat on our elected representatives -- so they'll remember us when it comes time to pass the Special Diabetes Funding bill.

About the Promise Campaign

The Promise Campaign is a coordinated effort to schedule and complete as many meetings as possible between representatives and senators and their constituents in their local districts. In addition to building relationships with federal lawmakers, it allows JDRF to continue the momentum and messaging established through our Children's Congress event.
