Congress' Columbus Day recess is coming up quickly, October 8 through October 14. With Congress set to make many funding decisions before the end of this year, including decisions regarding our $1 billion in Special Diabetes Program money, this recess is a critical one for the Promise Campaign.
Please re-double your efforts to get Promise meetings scheduled during this week. If you're a Promise Campaign coordinator, please make the time to contact your local offices to get a meeting on the schedule. If you've signed-up to attend a Promise meeting and you would like to help us coordinate meetings in your area, just send us an email at advocacy@jdrf.org and let us know. If you're new to our Promise site and you would like to sign-up to attend a meeting, just visit our Get Involved page.
With more than 60 meetings already on the schedule, our goal of 400 meetings by May 2008 and 200 before the end of this year is already in sight!
