Persistence (the path of the JDRF-er)
We wanted to keep the theme from last week’s update--persistence. Our Campaign Coordinators are keeping this in mind as their meeting scheduling progresses! They are asking themselves the following:
- Have I been in contact with the offices assigned to me?
- Have I followed up to make sure I am on the legislator’s radar to get a meeting scheduled?
- Have I updated the Promise Admin site to record my progress? (The Promise Admin site is an online tool for Campaign Coordinators to manage the meetings assigned to them)
- Have I contacted my Promise Campaign co-chair or the Grassroots team to discuss additional ideas to schedule meetings?
A ‘Promising’ Tip:
The August recess is coming to an end after Labor Day. Many of your Campaign Coordinators have already put in a meeting requests and have been persistent about following up with the legislator offices and they are noting in their communications to the offices that they’ve had the meeting requests in for some time now. The coordinators are letting the legislator offices know that it would be great if they could commit to a meeting date the next time the legislator is in town if the offices are not able to give a meeting date during this recess period. As our Campaign Coordinators think ahead, they are helping the legislator’s offices think ahead and are offering dates that can work for both, the constituents and the legislators.
Campaign Highlight!
Ever been bummed about a Promise meeting because you felt the amount of time given to you to meet with the legislator just didn’t seem enough?
Well, you’re not the only one. Read about how a 10 minute photo-op meeting two hours away for some advocates turned into time well spent by clicking here:

Promise Online Feature:
Hasan Shah, JDRF's Grassroots Advocacy Manager, posted a video campaign update in the Promise website’s blog section at http://bit.ly/2Fe0vn. Be sure to watch the video and leave a comment to let us know what you think and what you want to see next!
Thanks again for all the great work everyone is doing, let’s keep it up and get those 25 additional meetings to get to 100 by Labor Day!
